Parenting An Athlete

For parents of youth ages 6 through 18, the Parenting An Athlete Program includes a series of weekly training sessions usually conducted over four to six weeks. Schools, youth sports organizations, and parent associations can select from a variety of education modules on parenting topics relevant to their needs. 

Modules include: 

  • Building Resiliency 
  • Dealing With Conflict 
  • Bullying 
  • Hazing 
  • Reducing Risk Of Substance Abuse 
  • The Truth About Performance Enhancing Drugs 
  • Nutritional Needs Of Athletes 
  • Effective Communication/Effective Parenting 
  • Transmitting Values 

The Parenting an Athlete Program also incorporates elements of The President’s Challenge, a program of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and Physical Fitness, to promote lifelong health and enjoyment of physical activity.
