Frequently Asked Questions for The Rediscovering Youth Sportsmanship E-Learning Course

Q. What is my Team Code?

A. In order to access the Rediscovering Youth Sportsmanship E-Learning course, your team's league must have been set up with a unique TEAM CODE for its members. This unique Team Code is distributed to participants required to complete this course by the league or team. If you do not know your TEAM CODE, please contact your league and/or team official(s).

Q. I am having trouble entering my Team Code into the registration form.

A. It is important you enter the code exactly as it was provided to you into the registration form. Also note, it's case sensitive, so it must be entered in all lower case letters, no spaces.

Q. There is more than one person in my household that needs to take this course. I was able to register with no issue but when they try to register, they are getting an error message.

A. If more than one person in your household is required to complete this course, it's important a unique email address is used per course participant (not the same email address the other person in the household entered into the registration).

Even if there is not another valid email address available for another course participant, you can simply resolve this by taking your primary email and altering it by one character, or adding one character so it is unique to the user that is registering for the course.

For instance, user 1 can enter the valid email address: john@yahoo.com
If no other email address is available for other members of the household, User 2 can then enter john1@yahoo.com
User 3 john2@yahoo.com and so on.

The reason for this is the email address serves as the unique identifier and Learner ID, and will also serve as your unique login for subsequent visits to the course, if necessary.

Q. I have viewed all the pages but cannot access the test/pledge to complete the course

A. Please be sure to view all the pages in the course. If you log back in to the course (by going to: http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com/login/login.asp using the email address you provided in the registration form and the personal password you designated)

Once you access the Course Main Page.. select the "Rediscovering Youth Sportsmanship Program Course" under CURRENT COURSES:

Then click, the "Course Index" link in the left menu, this will show you the course outline. At the top of this outline, you'll see a button called "SHOW UNVIEWED PAGES" if you click this, it will show you specifically which material you have not yet viewed.

Once you’re there, if it does show 124 page of 124 viewed, please go to the last link where it states Parental Pledge.

This will take you to the test page.. and at the bottom you’ll see a statement with a link called “You may begin by clicking BEGIN now”

Click Begin and follow the test to answer the questions re: Parental Pledge, when you get to the end it will grant you course completion and you can obtain your certificate.

Q. Am trying to access the course and am getting a "no learner in the organization has that email address" message

A. In order for the course to recognize a valid email address, you must first register to set up entry to the course, by going to: http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com/newregister.html

You may have tried to access the course by going straight to the login area (for returning users only: http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com/login/login.asp ) and entering an email address which may not yet be recognizable by the System since it has not yet been registered. The registration process allows for the email address to be inputted, validated and LEARNER ID is to be established.

If you had already registered, you should be able to access the course by going to the "returning Users" login area ( http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com/login/login.asp ) just please be sure to double check you are entering the email address exactly as it was provided upon registration.

If you have not previously registered, or if no one else in your household has already used the email address you are attempting to register with (see importance of using unique email address) , please go to the registration form at: http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com/newregister.html

Fill out all the required fields and remember to enter the TEAM CODE exactly as it was provided to you, it is case sensitive, so please be sure to enter it in all lower case letters, no spaces, then designate a personal password. These steps should allow you to successfully register and access the course.

Q. Am getting a request to enter an "organization code" and it's not accepting the code am entering.

Generally, this request may appear when there is inactivity during the completion of the course and the session has "timed out." The best way to resolve this --- is to exit/quit out of all your Internet browsing applications/windows on your computer --then re-launch your Web browser program (i.e. internet explorer, AOL, etc.) -- type in the address to the "returning users" section of the Rediscovering Youth Sportsmanship e-course:

http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com/login/login.asp

Enter the email address you provided upon registration and the password you designated. This should then put you back into the course and should also provide you an updated status of pages viewed.
